ETHICAL BOUNDARIES TRAINING
August 2nd ~ 9:00am – 5:00pm
at Northwest Christian Church, 1340 Fishinger Rd, Columbus, OH 43221
This workshop is designed for new and current ministers wishing to gain standing with the Christian Church in Ohio. (Or Disciples of Christ Ministers who last attended this course 10 or more years ago.) United Church of Christ and other Ministers are also welcome to attend for their denominational requirements.
Because the position of minister in EVERY setting places the pastor in a position of power, this workshop explores how this power manifests itself in many different dimensions of ministerial life: professional, personal, sexual, and spiritual. For each of these dimensions there are boundaries of which we need to be aware and many we dare to cross for our own wellbeing, the wellbeing of individual congregants, and the wellbeing of our ministry with the congregation we serve. We explore and discuss these boundaries in a workshop setting so when they present themselves in our ministry setting, we know how to react in an ethical way. This workshop is required by the Ohio Commission on the Ministry.
NOTE: If you are unable to attend this training, there is one more already scheduled:
