Chi-Rho Camp Damascus and CYF Conference Week #3
This summer, we will have the amazing opportunity to share our blessed Camp Christian with two age groups meeting on the same week. Chi-Rho Camp Damascus and CYF Conference Week #3 are scheduled from July 21-27, 2019. Each program will function independently so that age groups and traditions will be respected. In addition, this week of concurrent camping will enable many new possibilities. For example, some families and churches will be able to send different age groups to Camp at the same time. The Directors of these Camps have been working together to make this a wonderful week of mentoring, sharing, and continuing the programs that make Camp Christian so successful. Plan now to join us!
For Youth in 6th, 7th, or 8th grade. Held at Camp Christian.
There are 3 options of dates for families to choose from for the Chi Rho Camps. It does not matter where you live or what Church you attend. You may register for whichever one fits best into your summer schedule. The week options for Chi Rho Camp are:
FOLLOW UP INFORMATION FOR PARENTS, INCLUDING WHAT TO BRING
Chi Rho Camp is geared to Jr. High/Middle School youth who have finished grades 6, 7, or 8. Their theme this year is The Holy Spirit. Through the study of the Bible in morning “Quest” Groups they seek out the Quest Truth for that day. Beginning each morning with cabin devotions they learn to begin each day with a look towards God and Jesus. The day ends with the whole camp gathered for a worship service and then a good night prayer we call the closing Chi Rho. The week ends with a special service known as consecration. Here each young person has on opportunity to make a private commitment to themselves about what they have experienced during the week and how they will carry the message forward. These “letters” to themselves are sent as a packet to the Local Church where youth leaders hand them back to them in late winter. All campers are invited to partake of the Lord’s Supper during this service regardless of where they are on their faith journey.
